hether your skin is oily, dry, mature, sensitive or has pigmentation spots, discover all the benefits of topical vitamin C for your skin.

1. PROTECTS THE SKIN FROM FREE RADICALS TO COMBAT AGAINST PREMATURE AGING

Vitamin C is a potent active antioxidant that protects the skin from the devastating effects of free radicals. The sun, pollution, cigarette smoke and inflammation, all generate free radicals, which are unstable molecules that are missing an electron. Free radicals tend to “steal the missing electron” from our healthy molecules, thus damaging our cells and tissues. This phenomenon is called “oxidative stress”. This phenomenon causes the acceleration of signs of aging which include wrinkles, skin sagging, and pigmentation spots, and therefore, aggravates the symptoms of problematic skin.

Vitamin C neutralizes the action of free radicals by “providing” a missing electron. This active makes it possible to protect the skin, daily, against environmental aggressions in order to prevent the onset of premature aging, regardless of the skin type.

2. BOOSTS COLLAGEN PRODUCTION FOR YOUNGER AND FIRMER SKIN

Vitamin C is essential for collagen synthesis. Collagen is one of the most important structural proteins for maintaining the flexibility and firmness of the skin. However with age, collagen production slows down and contributes to skin sagging, thus intensifying the appearance of wrinkles. Vitamin C however, is able to increase the ability of our skin to produce collagen. This helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, prevent their appearance and bring more firmness to the skin.

3. ATTENUATES PIGMENTATION SPOTS TO UNIFY THE COMPLEXION

Vitamin C assists in controlling hyperpigmentation. Pigmentation spots are related to excessive melanin production: the pigment responsible for skin coloration. Hyperpigmentation can manifest itself in different forms and may arise more specifically with age, as with hormonal fluctuations, for example during pregnancy, or in areas with acne scars. Topical vitamin C has the ability to prevent the production of localized melanin, which reduces pigmentation spots and ensures a more luminous and even complexion.

GOOD TO KNOW ….

The Vitamin C used in many skincare products today, comes in the form of L-ascorbic acid. Although this form of vitamin C is the purest, it remains the most volatile form and easily oxidizes to air, heat and light. It should therefore, be formulated at an acid pH which is often too irritating for sensitive skins.

Nelly De Vuyst® uses a stabilized form of vitamin C in their VitaLift-C HA Serum, derived from a new generation of glucoside Ascorbyl and encapsulated in liposomes. Ideal for all types of skin, it is perfectly tolerated by even the most sensitive skin. Once it is contact with the skin, this form of vitamin C becomes active and is then delivered, in a controlled way, into the skin without ever oxidizing.

VitaLift-C HA Serum is associated with last generation vitamin C of fragmented hyaluronic acid. The synergy of these ingredients allows to:

  • Smooth the skin and plump wrinkles and fine lines
  • Unify the complexion and alleviate pigmentation spots
  • Prevent the appearance of imperfections
  • Provide daily antioxidant and antipollution protection
  • Reveal brightness and vitality to the face, day after day.
